The Visalia Art Trail debuted March 30th of 2007 and was founded by
Teresa Ferguson of Photography by Teresa. The Visalia Art Trail is
an on-going, FREE to the public, tour of local art venues on the last
Friday of every month from 4 pm - 8 pm, and is now hosted by the Huff
Art Center.
There is something special about being able to visit art galleries;
it’s true anyone can walk into an art gallery any time they want to,
as long as it's open, but at the Visalia Art Trail there is a
different environment. During Visalia Art Trail everyone can feel
absolutely comfortable walking in and around any gallery on the trail.
Ask questions!
During Visalia Art Trail the galleries are staffed with people who
will answer your questions about the art and artists at each stop.
You'll see many varieties of art displayed and for sale at the
Visalia Art Trail. Photographs, pottery, glass, original paintings,
jewelry, and more fill the area.
There is plenty of room for everyone at Visalia Art Trail. Many of
the merchants in Downtown Visalia do stay open late that evening.
Additionally, there are several spots where you can rest from your
browsing and enjoy some snacks, some coffee and dessert, or a glass
of wine. Downtown Visalia offers many options for eating, dine in or
take out. A few choices include Cafe 225, and Main Street Cafe.
Visalia Art Trail does not allow artists to display any mass-produced
artwork. Artists must either create or design their own, and only
hand-made crafts are allowed. You won't see any imported or
manufactured items here. Maps are available online and at
participating venues.
Visalia Art Trail takes place on the last Friday of each month. Art
is displayed from 4 p.m. until about 8 p.m. There is no admission
charge--it's free for everyone. You may find information on
www.artinvisalia.com or www.visaliaarttrail.com.
Browse, shop, watch the people, and...enjoy!
