About Sierra Saturday Art Hop and A Day with the Artist
A Day with the Artist showcases one of the artists we represent, and is
coordinated with the "Sierra Saturday Arthop" and Stellar Gallerys monthly
featured Sierra Art Trails artist, so visitors have a chance to visit with
more than one artist on the same day.
Sierra Saturday Art Hop takes place on the second Saturday of every month,
from 11 AM to 5 PM.
Participating galleries present featured artists, hold demonstrations and
other activities, and offer light refreshments.
Current participants include Grimmer Gallery, Stavast Studio Gallery,
Stellar Gallery, Timberline Gallery, and Williams Gallery West in Oakhurst,
as well as Anne Bredon's Looney Bin and the Paul Henry Abram Community Art
Gallery in North Fork.
Featured artists demonstrate their work throughout the day, discuss
techniques, and visit with interested visitors and clients. Come join us!
A Day with the Artist
Pastel Artist Charlotte Hoffman,
Come join us on Saturday, May 12th, from 11 AM to 5:00 PM for our monthly
Day with the Artist.
Charlotte Hoffman has been making pictures for as long as she can
remember. As an art major in the mid 70s she took a watercolor class and
fell in love with the ways the brush, paper, water and paint all interact
with one another. The feel of the loaded brush on the pristine paper or the
mingling of paints creating new colors and depth are exciting to watch .
A few years ago Charlotte began using pastels Pastels are pure joy and fun.
The immediate vivid colors are so gratifying. They were a difficult
transition from watercolor but once I understood their properties there was
no turning back."

Blanche Rogers has developed and refined the ancient art of imbuing
eggshells with botanical images creating intriguing unique finishes on
Ostrich, Rhea, or Goose eggs. Each egg lends its own exquisite subtlety to
the final finish. Eggs are the very symbol of life renewing. Her eggs are on
display and for sale at the Gallery.
