THIS IS THE LAST WEEK FOR "THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE"@ Roger Rocka's Dinner
Theater!

The Good Company Players presents the zany 1920's musical Thoroughly Modern
Millie at Roger Rocka's Dinner Theater through May 20.
Set in 1922, it's the story of Millie Dillmount, who moves to the big
city in search of a new life. She arrives in a New York full of intrigue and
jazz during a time when women are entering the workforce in record numbers
and the rules of love are changing.
Based on the popular 1967 movie, MILLIE was a huge Broadway hit in 2002
and winner of 4 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Audiences will meet the
brand new flapper Millie, her dashing boss at Sincere Trust Insurance, the
demure Miss Dorothy Brown, the charmingly ne'er-do-well Jimmy Smith, and a
wealthy cabaret singer named Muzzy Van Hossmere.
And then there's Mrs. Meers, ostensibly the proprietor of The Priscilla
Hotel for young ladies but actually the head of a sinister white slavery
ring. She and her bumbling assistants target girls with no families who
won't be missed - and only the enterprising Millie can foil their plans.
Fred Bologna has directed MILLIE and co-choreographs the many musical
numbers with Kaye Migaki. Along with multiple tap and jazz numbers, the show
features musical spoofs featuring take-offs on tunes by famous composers
such as Victor Herbert and Tchaikovsky (The Nuttycracker Suite).
The large cast is headed up by Emily Pessano as Millie, Michael Willett
and Darren Tharp as the two men she must choose between, and Nicholle Cash
as Miss Dorothy. Muzzy the heiress chanteuse is played by Astrid Plane and
the dragon lady Mrs. Meers is Kathy Sanders. Mrs. Meers' henchman Bun Foo is
played by Andrew Toledo, and Don Olayvar and Magnus Chhan split the role of
Ching Ho, her other aide.
