The exhibition in the President’s gallery includes digital photographs taken during our winter 
break 2006/07, “Northern India Study Tour “ and a recent trip to Southern India in June. The 
“Art and Culture 
of Northern India Study Tour” was the first study travel program to India offered for credit 
through the 
Department of Art and Design. The tour was co-sponsored by the College of Arts 
Humanities, the Division of 
Continuing and Global Education and the Fresno Art Museum. A documentary DVD about the 
study tour is 
being shown during the exhibition. A ten minute version of the documentary may be viewed 
on the Fresno State

Professor Sharma is an associate professor in the Department of Art and Design, Fresno State 
and an active artist member of the Fresno Fine Art Collective (FFAC), Gallery 25 and serves on 
the board of 
the Council of 100 and Golda foundation.

Joan Sharma is area representative for “Care For Children”, an innovative school and service 
program for children and their communities in rural India. Children, who come from 
economically 
disadvantaged families in some of the poorest parts of India, are provided with free 
education, books, balanced 
meals and regular medical care. Many are the first in their families to have ever had a formal 
education. You
