[FAC] LateUpdate.com launches fun and easy way to get local discounts

Dear Fresno Arts Council,

We have added tons of great features lately -- have you noticed? Earlier this year we added free classified ads, but in the last two weeks we've also
added a Shout Out page ( http://lateupdate.com/blog/shout-outs.php ) that lets you leave a voice message on our site!

There's another one we're excited about. It's the Blogged! button ( http://lateupdate.com/blog/recent-blog-picks-from-around-fresno.php ) in the menu
bar at the top -- whenever we see any interesting blog posts from around Fresno, we'll post them here! So you can keep up on the world of blogging
without going far.

And of course, we launched a whole bunch of maps to the site, the best of which is the Coupons by map feature ( http://lateupdate.com/coupons ). This
lets you browse merchants in Fresno and find discounts that you can print right away! 

All that -- and of course we got stories to share. Here they are!

Today LateUpdate.com is launching a new set of features for Fresnans that makes it much easier for them to find discounts for local businesses -- and
then find the local business while they're at it.

Fresno Coupons by Map ( http://lateupdate.com/coupons ) lets users explore an interactive map based on Google Maps, which allows you to zoom in, pan
around and click on markers.

This YouTube video was created to help explain some of the basic features of Coupons. This video is also embedded on the Coupons (

HIP HOP CLASS READS BETWEEN THE LYRICS AT FRESNO STATE

Dr. Julius Bailey's students are learning about the economy, gender, religion and issues of sexuality -- but not text books. 

Instead, they are learning it through a modern form of poetry that grew out of the streets of Brooklyn in the second half of the 20th Century and has
inspired a worldwide cultural movement where experiences -- the good, the bad, the ugly -- have found a way to flourish. But yet those ideas are
seldom taken seriously -- or at least seriously enough to be explored in a university classroom all semester, as is the case at California State
University, Fresno. 

But Bailey is no ordinary teacher. And Hip Hop music is no ordinary form of poetry to him.

FRESNO-BASED BAND 40 WATT HYPE LANDS SPOT IN THE GRIND

A movie set for release later this year will feature music from 40 Watt Hype, a Fresno band that is touring and recording a new album as well.
"The Grind," directed by John Millea, is set for a 2008 release. Nicole Town's plot synopsis on imdb.com states that The Grind is a story that
"revolves around Luke, a grifter who owes a significant debt to the Mexican mob. Set in the gritty underbelly of Gardena, CA Luke has to come up with
one final scheme to pay back his debt or his life is at risk. Supported by his two only friends, Courtney and Josh, they come together to devise a
plan that with a little blind luck just might get Luke out of the hole."
40 Watt Hype is also set to be featured throughout the entire soundtrack of another film, When the Cobra Strikes, as well.
