[FAC] Call for Entries to exhibit @ City Hall '09

Call for Entries:  REQUEST FOR SUBMISSIONS TO EXHIBIT AT FRESNO CITY HALL

The Fresno Arts Council (FAC) is accepting submissions from artists, art
groups and art organizations to exhibit at Fresno City Hall from January 1,
2009 to December 31, 2009 exhibition schedule.  The time period is
approximately one month to exhibit the selected artwork at City Hall. Mail
proposals to FAC, 1245 Van Ness, Fresno, CA 93721.  The deadline for
submissions is Tuesday, September 30, 2008, at 4:30 p.m.  Applicants will be
notified by Monday, 

November 1, 2008. Submissions MUST include the following:

 

1.	Letter of Intent: requesting consideration (one page); your contact
information-name, address, telephone numbers (home/work/cell), e-mail and
website addresses. 

2.	Description of art work: media, style, dimensions and general
subject matter (no more than two paragraphs). 

3.	Artist Resume: detailing previous exhibitions.  (Art
groups/organizations should supply a detailed background description of
organization and resume of one contact person.) 

4.	Ten to 15 slides, photographs, or color laser copies of work to be
considered for exhibition.  (Art groups/organization exhibits, one example
of work from each artist is required.) 

5.	Enclose a stamped self-addressed large envelope, in order to return
your materials, or they become the property of FAC.   

 

Open Entry:  All working artists, art groups and art organizations are
eligible to enter (with preference given to artists of local or regional
residence).  The letter of intent and supporting materials will be reviewed
by the Exhibit in Public Places Review Panel (Panel).  The decisions of the
Panel and FAC are final.  The results will be sent via e-mail and the
accepted applicants will receive a letter of acceptance and an agreement to
be signed and returned within 30 days.  If agreement is not received within
30 days, it will be assumed that you are no longer interested and another
proposal will be selected.
