Oskar Schindler called him "Little Leyson," a young teenager who came to work for him in his enamelware factory in 1943, even though he had to stand on a box to reach the handles of the machines. This youngest survivor of Schindler's List is coming to the Fresno area to share his heart-wrenching story of the hope and dispair he experienced during the Jewish Holocaust in Poland under the Nazis. He will also tell of the compassion and grace of one man--Oskar Schindler.
An unlikely savior of the Jewish people, Schindler, a German industrialist, continually risked his life to save over 1200 Jewish men, women, and children through his factory. Leon Leyson was one of these, and he is coming to the Valley to share his story--at no cost--with all who will listen, lest history repeat itself.
Leyson was featured on Steven Spielberg's Schindler's List DVD in a documentary titled "Voices from the List.
