it's all about the art and design. Please join us.

FULTON MALL WALKING TOUR and splendid history discussion Wednesday,
September 3
TOUR: 5:00 p.m., Fulton Mall Clock Tower (midway between Tulare and Fresno
Streets)
HISTORY: approximately 6:00 p.m., Club One Casino Showroom

DETAILS:
Our guide is Joyce Aiken who has been giving these tours for years. An
artist, author and former head of the Art Dept at Fresno State, she and Jean
Laury created the mosaics on the benches.
The history segment is given by Hal Tokmakian, a retired city and regional
planner, a former Fresno State professor and the region's expert on
world-renown modern landscape architect and designer of the Fulton Mall,
Garrett Eckbo (designer of the Mall).
At some point, we'll lose the oral history these two provide. You don't want
to miss it.

FULTON MALL FORUMS
Fulton Mall is being considered for designation on the National Register of
Historic Places. This series of interactive forums is presented to give the
owners of Fulton Mall, Fresno's 480,000 citizens, the opportunity to assess
this application and understand the significance and potential of Fulton
Mall.
Subsequent forums are being held on Sept 22 (Process: implications of
National Register designation by panel of experts) and Oct 1
(Sustainability: the way forward). The Fresno Historic Preservation
Commission renders their recommendation on Monday, Oct 13.

PARKING
Find the parking map on our website <www.downtownfresno.org>. Use the
underground garage, entering at the corner of Tulare and Van Ness, across
from Club One Casino. Exit the garage at Mariposa Mall - you can see the
Clock Tower when you're coming up the stairs.
