2nd Sunday ArtHop is February 10, 2008 at Sierra Vista Mall

 

As part of the Fresno Arts Council, Sierra Vista Mall continues to host
ArtHop on the second Sunday of each month from 1pm to 4pm at Center Court.

This month's featured artists are Alonso Sanchez and Celena Martin.  Alonso
is a full time college student attending Reedley College. He has recently
returned to drawing along with working with clay. His current project is a
fish series (with drawings and clay)- that includes all sorts of sea life
ranging from aquatic/tropical fish, sharks, and octopus. Except with a wild
twist and perspective to it. He pushes the limit of what we are not used to
seeing as individuals, in every aspect of his work. He incorporates the
following influences into his work: graffiti, life, and his industrial
background. His mediums are color pencils, markers, ink, and clay. 

 

Celena Martin has been a part of the ArtHop community with the Fresno Arts
Council for over four years.  Her home studio is based in Fresno's Tower
District.  Her creations are inspired by things that you can use in the
every day, place anywhere or give as gifts; useful art.  Her art ranges from
painted canvas, glassware and objects. She also creates hand detailed

Bevage is a versatile band that plays a variety of genres. Founded by Nate
Hinojosa, this band hits on the Blues, Latin Jazz, and some Flamenco
influenced music. Fellow musicians Jamie McHenry on Bass and Lucas Cairns on
Cajon will join Nate at Sierra Vista Mall on February 10, 2008. Nate has
been playing guitar for six years. You can find him and Bevage at The
Starline on April 5th in the Tower District. You can hear Nate play every
Thursday through Saturday at Flamenco's Tapas of Spain in the Riverview
