VISALIA, CA -- It is with great pleasure that we announce the
2008 Blindman's Bash Masquerade Ball, our first annual fundraiser. This
event benefits the public art outreach and educational programs of the
Huff Art Center; pARTners our at-risk youth after-school art educational
program, the opening of a center in Tulare, Art in the Park, VAST
(artist studio tour), and more.

The ball is in tribute to the first Blindman's Ball in 1917, Marcel
Duchamp and other Dadaists who were tired of the war, rejected the
standard; and began to create collage constructions from everyday
objects & "ready mades". In response to a rejected art piece at a show
in New York, the Dadaists began "the Blindman" magazine, and after "the
Blindman's Ball "celebrating the birth of the independence of Art in
America" Our ball pays tribute to the spirit of these artists, and the
influences in art.

We have planned an exciting and whimsical evening. During the reception
attendees will be able to bid on exquisite silent auction items, and
interact with various Valley artists. The theme, will be showcased
throughout the space using rich vibrant colors, exotic greenery, music,
and elegant dinner, Firedancers; the elaborate & sculptural centerpieces
will be available for auction at the end of the evening.

Tickets to attend the 2008 Ball are $65 per person. Tables of 8 are
available for $500, and Premier Table Sponsorships available at $1000.
