In these times when the news is filled with reports of organizations and
boards spending too much, here is a story about a board being dismissed
because it DIDN²T spend the money it should:

The Montana Supreme Court has dismissed the board of the Charles M. Bair
Family Museum in Martinsdale, saying it breached its fiduciary duties by
closing the museum in 2002, the New York Times reports. The decision
reverses a July 2006 ruling, which found that the advisors had acted
reasonably. According to the ruling, the board had not spent enough money
to get the museum, which houses an eclectic collection of European antiques,
Native American artifacts, and other valuable works of art, off to a good
start.
